Mr. R. S. Sharma is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as well as the General Chairman of GEO India 2008. Under his astute leadership the ONGC has flourished and successfully expanded its business as well as its influence. In 2002 after he successfully developed a comprehensive insurance policy for the company?s offshore and onshore assets at a substantially reduced premium, he was appointed Director of Finance of the ONGC. Mr. Sharma was instrumental in the joint cooperation agreement between ONGC, India and Eni, Italy which greatly enhanced his company?s domestic and overseas oil and gas business. With the expert guidance of the experienced Mr. Sharma, GEO India 2008 promises to be an event to remember.

Mr. Dinesh Kumar Pande
Mr. Dinesh Kumar Pande is the Director (Exploration) of the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in India. He was awarded this position through a presidential appointment on 23 September 2005. A petroleum geologist by profession, Mr. Pande joined the ONGC in 1976 as a graduate trainee, after earning his masters degree in Applied Geology. In his year of service to the ONGC he has covered all the facets of the exploration and development business. Mr. Pande was not only responsible for the implementation of the entire deepwater exploration program of ONGC along the east and west coasts of India but it was his innovative idea of multicyclic deposition in Bassein Formation that led to the discovery of the multilayered nature of the Bassein Reservoir in the Mumbai Offshore area. As Director (Exploration) of the ONGC Mr. Pande has played a dynamic role in spearheading vast initiatives that guided the science of petroleum geology into the 21st century and he continues to impact the entire field.
